So, it finally happened. Yesterday (Oct. 15, 2006) I asked my lovely Airin's hand in marriage from her parents. Now, we are getting married on March 2007.
Got to confess that I was nervous while doing the deed, but I expected that they would agree, and they did. Of course before that we had a splendid lunch (with a great italian wine) at Trattoria Mamma Lola , which is so far, my favorite Italian restaurant in Lima.
Following the tradition of Mamma Lola's we scribbled our musings on the walls (my fiance's father wrote it in Japanese). Hope to see those lines again and again, and remember this day. The day I announced that I want to share my life with my sweet Airin.
I am happy beyond words, rhymes or songs. I know it is cursi to write this on my web site, but I really do not care. I am happy, and that is all that matters.
Finalmente pasó. Ayer (15 de octubre del 2006) pedí a sus padres que me concedieran la mano (en matrimonio) de mi bella Airin. Así que en Marzo del 2007 nos estamos casando.
Debo confesar de que estaba nervioso mientras daba mi discurso, pero esperaba que estuvieran de acuerdo, y lo estuvieron. Por supuesto que antes tuvimos un almuerzo espléndido (con un gran vino italiano) en la Trattoria Mamma Lola , que, hasta ahora, es mi sitio favorito en Lima de comida italiana.
Siguiendo la tradición de Mamma Lola, escribimos nuestros pensamientos en las paredes (el padre de mi novia lo hizo en japonés). Espero ver esas líneas una y otra vez, y recordar este día. El día que anuncié que quiero compartir mi vida con mi dulce Airin.
Estoy tan feliz que no son suficientes las palabras, los versos, o las canciones. Sé que es muy cursi el escribir esto en mi sitio de web, pero francamente, no me importa. Estoy feliz, y eso es lo único importante.
