It's an asymmetric world

After many moons I got some time to organize my photos (really it's because I got a bad case of the flu and was homebound), so I decided to give Zoom Media Gallery another try.

Previously I've had nothing but bad luck using it, with some problems with integration and the use of SEF. The current version of this gallery component seems to work better in Joomla than it did in Mambo (when I last tried it). I have even installed a couple of modules, one that shows the galleries and subgalleries as a graphical menu (mod_zoom_menue), and another to show a scrolling sample of images (mod_zoom_pics).

Overall I can say I am happy this time around with this gallery, which still has some minor glitches here and there, but fares better than before.

Some features could be improved, for example, my fiance commented that the e-card feature could be nicer, e.g. with a vertical divider line, the use of "FROM", "TO" lines like in the real life postcards and perhaps some fake postal stamp.

Now I got no more excuses and need to finish uploading more pics of family, friends and travels.

Después de mucho tiempo tengo algo de tiempo para organizar mis fotos (en realidas es porque he caido con la gripe y no he salido mucho), de manera que decidí probar de nuevo Zoom Media Gallery.

Previamente no tuve mucha suerte usando este componente, con problemas de integración y el uso de SEF. La versión actual parece trabajar mejor con Joomla que como lo hacía con Mambo (que fué la última vez que lo había probado). He instalado un par de módulos, uno que muestra las galerias y subgalerias como un menu gráfico (mod_zoom_menue), y el otro que muestra algunas imágenes al azar (mod_zoom_pics).

En general estoy contento con la forma como esta trabajando esta galería, aunque aún tiene algunos problemitas aquí y aya

Algunas caracteristicas se podrían mejor, por ejemplo, mi novia comentaba que las e-card podrían estar mejor hechas, ej. con una línea divisoria vertical y el uso de un líneas con un "DE" y "A" como en las postales reales, y quizás poner una estampilla falsa por ahi.

Ahora ya no tengo excusas y necesito terminar de subir mas fotos de familia, amigos y viajes que he realizado.
