This program
calculates the percentage composition of a chemical compound, which is useful to check elemental analysis results. The program reads the atomic weights from an external memo, and can support tables of up to 120 elements. A full periodic table, a smaller table and a table of aminoacid residues are provided . The results of the calculations can be saved to a new memo with the name:
%MW Comp. Calc. 0.5b [date] [time]
As this is my second program in PocketC (the first one was a Farenheit to Centigrade conversion program), it may be buggy and the code and the input are still horrendous, but it does work. You can get the zip archive containing the program, including the source, compiled version, weight tables and the run-time version of PocketC.
Latest update: Added a stub so you can call the applet from the main PalmPilot application launcher. If the default weights table is not found a dialog will appear asking for the name of the memo containing the table. You can now control whether the formula interpretation is case sensitive or not; if you decide to make is case insensitive, make sure that your table contains unique symbols for the atoms or pseudo-atoms. Be sure to read the "readme.txt" file for more info.
