The amino acids database, contains information about the 20 naturally occurring amino acids. It includes the 1- and 3-letter codes, SMILES and SLN linear representation formulas, the molecular weight, isoelectric point, type and class, and the CA registry number. Formulas and molecular weights were calculated using the non-zwitterionic, neutral representation. A notes field is included for your annotations.

Update: Added information on the pKa's of the carboxyl (pKa1), amino (pKa2) and side chain (pKa3) groups. When appropriate the sidechain is mentioned in the notes field. Some minor field name changes and rearrangements, and corrections of isolectric point values.

Note: This DB was used to include more information in Chris Schleiermacher's BioTables program, you can visit his Pilot page for more information and to download that useful application.

Our son is here!

Our son Daniel Ken was born on March 09, 2009 at 14:39 PET (UTC - 5). We are happier than we've ever been in our lives.

Now the real work begins, helping a new life develop into this world.
